The Telegraph has provided further updates on Liverpool’s interest in Marc Guehi.
Earlier on Thursday, DaveOCKOP exclusively revealed that Liverpool hold genuine interest in the Crystal Palace defender and could move for him if they sell Jarell Quansah this summer.
Quansah has been attracting interest from Bayer Leverkusen with Sky Sports reporting that Bayer Leverkusen is actively engaged in talks with the England U21 international.
Liverpool have set an asking price north of £40 million for Quansah, according to reports.
Leverkusen are working hard to get the deal over the line, with Fabrizio Romano confirming that the Bundesliga club are willing to pay £30 million plus add-ons.
So as it stands, it is looking increasingly likely that Quansah will leave this summer, opening the door for a Guehi bid as we exclusively revealed.
The Telegraph has confirmed our exclusive, adding that Liverpool will make a significant bid for Guehi.
“Liverpool are expected to make a significant offer for Crystal Palace defender Marc Guéhi, having moved swiftly to raise funds with the sale of Jarell Quansah to Bayer Leverkusen,” The Telegraph’s Sam Wallace and Chris Bascombe wrote.
“There had been no formal offer yet for Guéhi, 24, but it now looks like Liverpool are in the best position to do a deal from among those who want to sign the England international.”
The report also revealed that Palace will sell the defender this summer, given his contract situation.
“He will be sold by Palace this summer with just a single year left on his contract and no prospect of a renewal?
The club turned down an offer of £55 million, with £15 million in add-ons, from Tottenham Hotspur in January.”
